-
- First off, the Colt is an IBM clone. You will probably have better luck
- posting this in one of the comp.sys.ibmpc groups. Short of sharing the
- Commodore name, the Colt has little to do with with this news group which is
- intended for Commodore 8-bit computers.

-
- IDE connectors are 40 pin. If there are two connectors labeled something
- like "data" and "control", it is either a MFM or RLL which is more likely
- given the age of the Colt. I do not know how to put the disk parameters in
- the Colt's setup. The answer to this question depends on your BIOS. Most
- modern AT BIOS's have the setup built in and give instructs at boot up on how
- to get at it. Older ATs have a disk. XT computers have DIP switches. See
- question 4 to see if you have an AT or an XT clone.
-
- >3. Is there different models of the commodore colt? If so how do I
- >differentiate mine?
-
- Yes, there are. Look in the "list of commodore products" posted here
- periodically.
-
- >4. WHat is the speed and type of CPU on this thing? I think I recall
- >it being a 286, but it has been a while since I have seen an ad for
- >this thing <G>
-
- If you have already opened it up to see the drive controller, why didn't you
- look at the CPU? This information will be stamped on it. If you have an
- 8086 or 8088 you have an XT clone. If it is a 80286, you have an AT clone.

- >video output?
-
- If it works with the 2002 it is CGA only. You can use any CGA compatable
- monitor on the market, which you won't find new.
-
- >6. WHat type of mouse does this thing take? It has the standard
- >commodore joystick port, so does it take a 1351? Amiga mouse?
-
- It is not a joystick port, but an RS-232 port. Do not plug a 1351 or Amiga
- mouse into it. You will need a serial mouse.
-
- >7. Last one, DOes it take a special keyboard (I don't have one) or can
- >it take the standard IBM keyboard.
-
- If it is a true clone, it will use any AT or XT (not PS/2) keyboard.
